Hi, I'm interested in buying this piece but need to know how to take out the old one and replace with the new one. Do you go in through the front or back of the machine and any advice, tips or instructions?

Hi Paul R, check out this video for help: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1298/how-to-replace-washing-machine-controls-hotpo.html. The machine in the video is different to yours, but you'll have to do something very similar to replace the timer knob indicator in your machine.
