My oven is not heating up - what can I do?

I have an Indesit oven (model no: FIE K.B GB). The oven does not heat up, although the top element / grill does seem to work. I suspect it is the lower element which has gone; and although the bottom of the oven does get very slightly warm, that might be due to the warmth from the top element. Or could it be that the thermostat has gone? How do I know what to buy and replace?

Hi Gerry, you're right, it's most likely that either the element or the thermostat has gone in the main oven. To find out which part has failed, use a multimeter. The one with no current running through it will be the one that you need to replace.
