I have just purchased a new seal for an Electrolux top oven door.

What appeared to be an easy task to remove the original has not proved to be so. I cannot release the plate that holds it. There are four screws. two of which secure the hinge, all which I am unable to undo. Have you any details of how this may be done?

The correct way to fit is to take the front panel off but it is possible to just pull out the old seal and use a little washing up liquid to help lubricate the new seal to push into the gap. Make sure the seal is 'facing' the same way, start at the biggest gap with the join on the bottom rail. If the gap becomes tight use a screwdriver to gently lever apart and help the seal into place.
