This item is suitable for crushing ice, it has been advised by the manufacture when crushing ice use the pulse in short bursts.

Answer this question

The new part has the same fault, the leaks are from the 2 red inserts in the underside of the new base unit. It is not a matter of screwing the base more tightly to the jug.I now have a new base that leaks as badly as the old. What is wrong? the jug is not leaking,.

This may be due to a design update by the manufacturer. However, if you provide us with the model number of your appliance we can confirm whether or not the product is suitable for your model.
