I switched the hoover off, then pushed the switch back down to start cleaning again and there was no life. So I have checked the fuse and I also have taken the lead off to where it connects to the appliance and tested for breakages. There was no problem with the lead or the fuse. Also there was no smells of burning when the brushes are gone, in fact the cleaner was working absolutely perfectly. I cannot find any way of bypassing the switch because it is built into a board and I am not sure where I would corectly do this manuvre. Could it possibly be the switch which is built into like a circuit board? Therefore could I need a replacement? many thanks

It is possible the problem is this module. check for continuity of the live and neutral from the plug to the board and for across the motor. If these check ok replace this module.
