Hi there. This filter is cut-to-size, and it fits with the patterned side facing downwards. This way, you can tell when the filter is saturated and needs to be replaced - the pattern will turn from grey to a reddish colour.

Yes it is important to always have a grease filter but optional for a carbon filter to absorb the cooking smells.
Hello, My hood has the exact same filters ( charcoal and grease) as in the film. Is this correct that grease filter is used in summer and charcoal filter added for winter to save heat lost from open hood? Thank you very much. Kind regards

The only purpose for the charcoal filter is to absorb cooking odours especially if recirculating the air and not venting it out.
I have bought the grease filter and carbon filter as my air gets circulated back into the kitchen. I don't know which layer goes where in the hood? So, if i were to look through the little holes, would I see the black charcoal filter, or the grease paper?? Thanks - no vidoes show this!

The grease filter first in contact with the grill so air passes through this first and you can see the indicators when they change.
Is there any particular way the red lines on one side of the filter have to face when fitting, inwards or outwards? 1 Answer

You should be able to see the indicators through the vent grill to be able to monitor when the filter needs changing.
