It's important to keep your dryer door seal in good condition as it is responsible for containing heat inside your dryer. A damaged door seal can lead to longer drying times which uses up a lot of energy. Over time the door seal on your condenser dryer will become worn and may perish. If this happens, it will need to be replaced.
How do I know if my door seal needs replacing?
If you suspect your door seal (sometimes referred to as door gasket) could be causing your tumble dryer problems, there are a few things to check for.
- Your tumble dryer is not heating up correctly or items are coming out still damp
- Mould is forming around your tumble dryer due to moist air escaping
- Lint and fluff are becoming stuck between the door and the glass

How to change the door seal on a condenser tumble dryer step by step
For a guide on how to replace your condenser dryer door seal, follow the steps or watch the video below. For this demonstration, we will be using a Beko condenser tumble dryer but the process should be mostly similar on all makes and models.

To complete this repair, you will need the following items:
Safety First
Before you begin, make sure your appliance is switched off and completely disconnected from the mains.
Step 1: Remove the door
The first thing you will need to do is remove the door. You can do this by removing the four screws that hold it into place and then put it to one side.
Step 2: Remove the screws around the door seal
Using your Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws around the door seal that hold it in place. You'll need to remove the four lower ones completely...
But only remove the four top ones about half an inch.
Step 3: Remove the faulty door seal
With the screws removed and loosened, the door seal frame should now be able to move freely from the panel. To remove the door seal, push in the top left screw to push the frame back.
Then wedge a screwdriver in between the gap.
And simply peel the door seal away.
Step 4: Fit the new door seal
To fit your new door seal, first, reposition the screwdriver to allow some space between the door seal frame and the front panel.
Next, position two more screwdrivers in the bottom left and right corners to allow some more space.
With your door seal in hand, start at the bottom first. You will be able to tell which is the bottom of the door seal as there will be a join in the two pieces of material.
You can then begin to manoeuver the seal into position. Start by putting the front lip into position in the frame and then simply roll the seal back into position.
If you do find that certain parts of the door seal are not going into place, you can use a flathead screwdriver to gently push the door seal in. Just be sure not to puncture the seal as you go.
Step 5: Remove the screws
Once you have a certain section of the door seal in place, you can remove the screwdriver and tighten the screws around it to hold the seal in position.
You can then continue around the rest of the frame, placing the screwdrivers around the seal to help you as you go along and tightening the screws to hold it in place.
The last section can be quite tight. So you can again just push in the screw to give yourself some room.
Step 6: Tighten the screws
When the door seal is secure, you can tighten all of the screws.
Step 7: Refit the door
Finally, refit the door by replacing the four screws.
