However before purchasing your universal element it is worth measuring the dimensions and fittings of your existing element before taking the plunge and ordering the new part.

This video shows an example on how to remove or replace the part on a typical machine, some models may be different but the procedure should be similar.

What You Will Need:

Step 1 - Safety Advice

Safety First! Please make sure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before beginning any repair.

Caution: Due to the sharp edges exposed we suggest suitable Safety Gloves are worn to help prevent injury when carrying out this repair.

Step 2 - Create Some Room

Now to begin - we want to remove the door, to do this - simply undo the hinge clasps this will help you effortlessly lift the door away from the oven. Once the door has been moved - remove the shelves from the oven cavity this will allow for easier access to the back of the oven.

You can now also remove the fan cover which sits at the back of the oven and is held in place with some screws.

Step 3 - Element Removal

With the fan cover out of the way you will be able to access the element. To remove it there is usually screws holding it in place - unscrew these and the element will be released. With the element now loose carefully pull it away from the oven back.

Step 4 - Reassembly

With the old, faulty element loose you can now fit the new element. Following the steps above, simply transfer the electrical connectors, screw the element back in place and reattach the fan cover.

Put the wire shelves back into your cooker and then refit the door, don’t forget to put the hinge clasps down to secure the door in place and hey-presto you’ve fitted a new fan oven element.

Please Note: Once everything is in place don’t forget to reset your oven timer if it is fitted...please refer to your user manual for details on how to set your timer. If your manual is nowhere to be seen then download a PDF version of it right here on our site.
