A common issue you tend to hear about tumble dryer is the dryer not heating up properly or at all. Now if that’s happening to your tumble dryer then it's most likely to be an issue with the heating element or the thermostat.
It is recommended that when you do come to replace either the thermostat or the heater, they are both replaced at the same time, as it can be tricky to diagnose exactly which of those are at fault. So most manufacturer will provide a heating assembly unit or as we know it as a heater. It comprises of the heating elements, the thermostats and all the necessary wiring and connections.

Step 1 - Safety Advice
Safety First! Please ensure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before starting any repair.
Step 2 - Remove Top And Right Hand Panel
Okay let's get this done… Start off by removing the top and right hand side panel of the tumble dryer. To do this we will need to remove the screws at the back and top keeping them secured in place.
Note: The top cover may require a little tug to push it out of place.
Step 3 - Disconnecting The Heater Cover And Shaft
The next step is to remove the shaft and heater cover panels sitting at the back of the machine. These will be held in place with a few Phillips screws going around it.
Once the panels are loose from the machine, the only thing now holding it in place will be the electrical connection from the inside, which will need to be disconnected and pull through the back.
Step 4 - Removing Old Heater From Cover
Now to remove the heater from the cover… Okay so with the old one still inside the heater cover we need to get it out, which can be easily done by turning it over and undoing the two screws holding it in place.
Once the screws have been removed, the only thing holding the heater in place now in the cover is the plastic fixing holding the wires. So to undo that take a pair of pliers and pinch gently and pull it through.
Note: Keep the plastic fixing to reuse on the new heater because the new heater may not come with one.
Step 5 - Refitting New Heater
In goes the new heater…pop the plastic fixing or cable tie on the new heater wires, then take the heater and gently place it into the heater cover and pop the fixing through the hole. Now all we need to do is screws the heater in position.
With the new heater fitted in place, all that's left to do is refit the cover back onto the machine, connect the electrical connection inside the machine and screws the panels back together.
