How to Replace the Bin Base on a Dyson - DC07

One of the most annoying things that can break on a Dyson is the base of the bin assembly. Usually the little lugs on the base have the tendency of snapping off. If the base of your Dyson has either cracked or chipped don’t worry we’re here to help.

Replacing the faulty bin base will ensure your vacuum cleaner is functioning to its full potential. If you’re unsure where to start or how it’s done, follow our simple guide and get your vacuum working at full force again.

This video shows an example on how to remove or replace the part on a typical Dyson machine, some models may be different but the procedure should be similar.

  What You Will Need:

  Step 1 - Safety Advice

Safety First! Please ensure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before starting any repair.

Step 2 - Accessing the Bin Base

Okay, to access the bin you will need to remove the cyclone assembly from the vacuum body. Once you have it in a open space, you need to separate out the cyclone from the bin unit.

The bin base will be hinged on so simply unhinge the base off and then remove the cyclone out of the bin by pressing the release button at the top of the bin.

Step 3 - Adding The New Bin Base

If the bin itself is damaged then you can just replace the whole lot.

Grab the new bin base, which may look slightly different will work exactly the same. Start with one corner of the hinge hooked in the bin and click the other one in - you may have to use a bit of force to get them in.

There you go, just pop in the cyclone back inside the bin and there you have it. A fully functioning vacuum cleaner. Now vacuuming your home doesn’t have to be a chore anymore.
