How do you use this product with a B&D GL301?
I have always bought a replacement spool with line. This time I would like to buy the trimmer line only. However, looking at the vidoes on line, the starting point requires some form of purchase within the spool itself. Looking at the empty spool, there are no holes/ gaps with which to make the initial purchase. Or simply given there is only one spool, do i simply make purchase from one of the external clips and clip to the other external clip?

You should be able to attach the line to the spool by passing a few mm of line through a hole in the flange of the spool on the motor side.
