What is the differance
Hi I just replaced my main oven element and found that no power was getting to the element so i found that the temperature limiter was open circuit and looked burnt . I looked on your site and found two possibility's , ES1145412 (which i purchased ) and ES113901 which was looks the same and is listed as being for my model also . In view of the the temp limiter being destroyed i also bought a new thermostat from you . With all the new parts fitted , things are still not right in that with the temp limiter breaks the circuit at 153 deg and allows it to drop to 76 deg before it re-connects (big hysteresis) , oven temps measured with a thermocouple & multimeter . This is with the back refitted etc.. , but with the back off it climbed to 250 deg before going open circuit . Might it be possible that i have the wrong limiter? . One other thing is that as i remember the original switch was definitely mounted with only one screw and the opposite leg possibly wasn't tucked behind a cleft in the steel panel face , which it was obviously made for . I wonder if the manufacturer had left the leg from behind the cleft on purpose so as to reduce surface area contact (reducing heat transfer ) ?
