does the shaft have a hole in for a split pin?

the holes on the plate are obvious to secure one end of the drum shaft, but does the pointy end of the shaft have a hole across the shaft to allow the fitment of a split pin? This is for a replacement of a Creda Excel T632CW Condenser Dryer drum shaft.

  • A split pin can be used, but there is a special "S" shaped pin that goes in this cross drill hole. Always use a washer between bearing and split pin/"S" pin. By marlincar - Devonshire - 22 April 2010
  • yes this shaft is drilled to accept a pin, use the pin that is in the old shaft, not a split pin, the pin is just a single, easy to fit. By ianoliver48 - scottish borders - 26 November 2009
