I have a hoover VHC 618b condensing dryer, the motor a drum will run for a few second or not at all,the element gets hot and then it trips with all lights flashing on the display.DO you think this is the mains filter that is at fault.

There is no blockage in the air trunking

    The mains filter is in circuit the moment poer is connected and if the machine does not trip off when not running this is not likely to be faulty. A common problem is water not being cleared to the container being splashed onto the heater. Check the drain pump and make sure the reservoir and pipe from the condenser is not blocked.
