i have removed the oven door for cleaning but now i cannot get the hinges to open up again so i can re-attach the door, am i missing somthing simple?

The hinge springs are very strong. Once fitted to the door you can use a ring spanner to open the hinge and latch it in position before refitting. Be careful when opening as you can easily injure yourself if you slip when opening.
