ONE OF THE SMALL CASTORS HAS BROKEN OFF LEAVING THE METAL STUB EXPOSED-hOW CAN I REMOVE THIS STUB TO FIT NEW CASTOR? replacement NO. 20400 400Mpu. I HAVE TRIED IT REMOVE IT WITH A MOLEGRIP SPANNER ON THE SHAFT AND TAPPING WITH A HIDE MALLET.TO NO AVAIL. ANY IDEAS OR TRICKS?

These castors push into the base but are designed not to come off easily. Practice on another so you know how much effort is required. These come off easiest when pushed in to allow a little 'travel' and snatched out quickly to slide past the castor grip. If stuck try warming with a hair dryer and holding castor shaft with a pair of 'Mole grips' or a vise.
