Washing Machine Door Interlock
Door locks need to be checked on a regular basis to ensure they work correctly. If the door is not locked correctly during the wash cycle, it could lead to water leaks from the machine. The door interlock is an electronic device that provides a time delay of approximately 2 minutes, once the cycle has been completed before the washing machine door can be opened.
If your washing machine will not start, yet the relevant lights appear to be lit on the fascia panel, it could be because the door interlock has failed. If the door closes, and the desired cycle is selected but still no joy - it may well be time for a new interlock.
With help from eSpares, you can soon be back to a safe and fully working washing machine again, so the pile of laundry does not start to stack up for you!
Specification:
- Type: IDC Connections
Important:
- The Door Interlock you receive may look different to the published image as Indesit update this part regularly.
- The lock on your machine may not have any screws locating it - but may have plastic 'bumps' instead. If this is the case carefully push on the bumps with the tip of a screwdriver. This will allow them to slip under the front panel as you slide the lock to one side

The seal is fitted to the front panel with a retaining band Stock Number: ES831870. Carefully look around the lip of the seal and you should locate the tension spring, you can then use a small screwdriver to 'catch' the spring and start to pull it over the seal lip to release it.
To operate the washer drier I need to slam the door quite hard . Could the interlock require replacing ?
