I hope this is not a door switch because I wanted a switch

This is a 'standard' microswitch and can be used for many purposes including door switches. On the side you will see an diagram of a switch. These come in three varieties, Normally open, normally closed and two way. If the connections are in the same place as the one on yours it should fit without a problem.
