Top Oven Thermostat - EGO 55.17069.020 Stock Number: ES176136
Genuine spare part for select models of Neff, Bosch and Siemens cookers
I am able to remove the thermostat except for the end of the probe in the back of the oven, the end of which seems to be attached by some kind of pin (like a screw without a head). There is nothing on the other side of it. I can't work out how to detach the probe. I am a bit concerned because this replacement is quite different from the one that has come out. It has two connectors labelled 1 and 2 just as the old one, but it's layout is quite different. Is this really the right part? Thanks

- It turned out it was in fact bolted in. The bolt was on the outside of the oven, buried underneath the wadding. This replacement didn't have facility for this bolt, so I had to fabricate something. The bad news is it seems the problem was not the thermostat, as the problem remains. The good news is, the thermostat seems to work and I wired it in properly, since the oven is still just as dysfunctional as it was before :)

The part has been changed by Neff as the original is not available and the new one is a direct replacement. The phial on the end of the capillary is usually just held in place using a spring clip. If you are removing the a faulty one you can simply cut the capillary to remove it.

The cooling fan in the top will come on to cool the electrics in the control panel, it is controlled by a cycling thermostat and not the top oven thermostat, you would need to test it with a multimeter to determine if it has failed.
Neff oven B1421N1GB/07 thermostat. In the video it shows the capillary tube held in place by clips, mine is riveted. What can I do ? 1 Answer

The capillary will still come out of the clips to replace, you will need to prise the clips apart enough to release the capillary.
The oven keeps tripping the electricity at the mains box , I think it’s when the oven clicks off on reaching temperature. Is this a thermostat problem.

The problem is more likely to be due to a failing element.
The oven heats up but will not reach highest temperature

It will usually be the thermostat or element that has failed. Please view our advice centre page which will give you more information, http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/1/2145 The model in this video may be different to yours, however the process should be similar for other makes and models.

Before suspecting a fault check the selector switch is in the off position as well as the thermostat turned to the off position or the cooling fan will continue to run.
Other than the clock still working my oven is dead. When operating the mode switch (grill/oven ) &/or temp control switch nothing comes on at all.would a faulty thermostat unit cause this problem? 1 Answer
I bought a replacement heater element from you and fitted it yesterday ,that didn,t resolve the problem

We have a NEFF B1920W0gb/02 and when turning on the temperature the oven shorts. I assume we need a new thermostat - how easy is this part to fit? Thank you
