Bosch Washing Machine Error Code F02

Doing the laundry without a washing machine can be very time consuming and exhausting, as we always have clothes to wash. If your washer has suddenly displayed an F02 error code, it’s mostly due to a defective heater.

Luckily, we have diagnosed the most probable cause as to why your washer may have thrown up this error. To get your washing machine back up and running without the expensive call out costs, read on and let us help you restore your appliance.

Heater

When your washing machine is failing to finish its wash cycle, it is recommended to check the heater. If the heater - also known as a heating element has failed then you can perform a few checks to confirm the fault.

The washer needs to reach the correct program temperature to perform the complete wash cycle - if the element is faulty leading to it not heating correctly the appliance may continue to run.

Safety First! Please make sure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before beginning any repair.

  • Accessing the washing machine’s heater, you need to check for damage, this can be identified by loose or burnt connections.
  • If there is no visible damage, use a multimeter and check for resistance. (See here for instruction on how to use a multimeter)

A perfectly working heater will give a typical reading of between 20 - 30 Ohms.If the resistance is far higher or gives no reading then the heater has failed and will require replacing.
