Hotpoint Washer Dryer F14 Error Code

For many people washing laundry is a daily occurrence - washer dryer machines are designed to make your life that much easier. With all your favourite outfits for special occasions, work attire and casuals a working washer dryer is key to keeping yourself looking your best.

If your Hotpoint washing dryer shows an F14 error on the display the problem is likely to be due to a drying problem. There are a few simple tests you can do: see if the drying load is not overloaded, inspect the filter for blockages and make sure the spin cycle is set high enough to remove excess water.

If everything seems fine, follow this article to get your laundry dry without having to worry about those expensive call out costs.

Dryer Heater Element

A common cause of a washer dryer not drying is the heater element. Depending on your model, most washers have two heating elements that are secured inside a metal housing.

Safety First! Please make sure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before beginning any repair.

You’ll need a multimeter to test the element for faults (See here for instruction on how to use a multimeter).
  • Remove the lid on the washer dryer and disconnect one of the electrical connectors.
  • Inspect the element for visual signs of damage.
  • The ideal resistance reading is anywhere between 25 and 150 ohms. If you get a result of zero or excessively higher than the element will be faulty.

If the element is damaged or faulty then, unfortunately, a replacement will be required to get your appliance working again. For a spare heater - see our range of washer dryers spares here.
