Washing Machine Poly-Vee Drive Belt - 1158J5PJE

If the drum does not spin and rotate at the speed required, it could lead to your clothes being left damp at the end of the cycle. One of the causes of a slow rotating drum is if the belt is stretched or worn, which can happen over a period of time.

With the help of eSpares, and this replacement belt, we could soon have your washing machine back to full rotation speed, and get back the performance you have come to expect from your washing machine

I am trying to fit this belt to a hotpoint aqaurius extra. I am unable to wrap it round the pulley and the motor as the same time as it is so tight. The motor is at the bottom of the drum and doesnt move. Can you give me any tips on how to fit???

  • I'm sure you have managed by now. But you take the top off the washer put the belt round the motor pulley hold the belt against the drum pulley and then rotate the drum a bit like putting your bike chain back on. Watch your fingers! By Anonymous - cumbria - 18 March 2010
  • Place belt round motor first, get another pair of hands to help and slowly feed it round the large pulley. It will be tight but with patience you will get there. By umike89 - coventry - 21 January 2010

My washing machine is a hot point Aquarius and there is no large panel on back that I can remove? Took the small panel off near bottom revealing motor and took top off ,but when I put the new belt on the motor and tried fitting onto big drum wheel slowly turning it, it just flips off as I'm turning big wheel on drum ,doesen't seem to have any play in the belt to force it on .washer Number on front is WML560. Thanks.

Old engineers trick is to tie the belt on to the pulley at one point, pop over the motor spindle and then rotate the pulley to pull the belt on. Once fitted cut the tie.

Hi Davlim, I'm afraid we can't ship to addresses outside of the UK. However if you have a friend or relative in this country we would be happy to send it to them for you.

Hi Iampaul, you will only need a regular spanner to fit the belt, to adjust tension when removing the old one, and while fitting the new one.
