  • Here’s a quick TRICK to get them opened WITHOUT TOOLS: you can use a slot on the OLD HINGE to hold the lug that fits into the door frame on the new hinge and easily prise the thing open. This is how I opened mine. JB 30/04/2018 By JB - - 30 April 2018

Clamp the hinge 'spigot' with a vice and open the hinge, then use a screwdriver to move the lock clip into place. Alternatively use a large ring spanner or metal tube over the spigot to prise to the open position. Make sure the spigot cannot injure you if it springs closed as you lock the hinge open.

The hinge latch at the pivot should be clipped out of the way when the door is fitted. Sometimes these can be quite tight and may need pushing into place using a screwdriver. If this is not possible compare the latch with those on the old hinges and contact our customer services if required.
