Fan Oven Element - 2100W

I bought the same product approx 18 mopnths ago. Is it normal to have to replace this part so often? 2 Answers
Homark Oven, If the normal life of a heating element is usually longer, what would make mine only last 18months????

To help prevent damage to a fan element turn the thermostat down to minimum for thirty seconds before switching off. Switching straight off stopping the circulation fan immediately when the element is hot can cause overheating and damage the element as the circulating air stops".
- Mine also lasted only around 18 months when I purchased the part from espares. I've had to buy another one a week ago. I think they usually last much longer, since the previous one that was installed when I moved into the flat lasted over six years, at least.
I bought the cheap one and it only lasted 2 yrs - but there are complaints on this page that the expensive one only lasted 18 months 1 Answer
I bought the cheap generic version (ES1019709) and it lasted 2 yrs after fitting .... it seems that its irrelevant if you buy the manufacturers expensive part, or the cheaper generic one. A little disappointing as the original part lasted ten or more years (with regular usage). So after reading 3 mentions of this manufacturers part failing inside 18 months on this page, so I decided to buy two cheap ones at one go. Shame that I can't buy a part that won't last very long .... espares might ask suppliers about this issue. Or at least answer the questions being raised?
