The nut which removed the impeller from the motor just goes round and around when we try to remove it.
- Long tooth is correct Turn nut clockwise to loosen. To hold the shaft of the shaft of the motor I used a pair of long nose pipe / multi grip pliers to squeeze the plastic impeller tight around the motor shaft while my partner loosened the nut with a socket on an extension bar cos I needed both hands to get max force to grip the shaft thru the plastic of the impeller. This is not a good design by Baumatic -There really should be a steel or liner or harder material in the drive socket of this impeller as the plastic is just too soft and will wear away around the keyway profile of the shaft. I 'll see how long the replacement lasts.
- May I just verify, as the fan operates anti-clockwise To remove the impeller locking nut, you must unscrew it in a clockwise motion.
- I had to break the collar off the old impeller to get it off Then this allowed me to undo the locking nut and replace the motors fan

It may be necessary to prevent the motor armature and shaft from turning when trying to undo the nut as holding the fan may not be doing this.
- Does the cover just slide out after the sealant is removed or does the glass cover need to be removed too? The original installer has literally cemented the back of the glass to the wall.
- This is the first time I attempted this, but I didn't remove the entire rangehood. I turned the power off first, then I removed the top bit (the bit that covers the exhaust pipe - not the rangehood). It was silicon sealed, which I cut first. Then there are four screws that you unscrew from the top that releases the fan unit. It will still be attached to the power cord so it will sort of hang (you need someone to help hold it from underneath). Then unscrew the black side panel (the left side). The impeller is held there by a bolt. Release the bolt and washers and then the impeller will slide out. Slide the new one in and then add the bolt and washers back again. (the bolt was difficult to release as everything inside the fan unit was greasy and the axle needed to be held with pliers so it didn't turn while unscrewing the bolt). Screw the side panel back again and then hold up the fan unit up inside the rangehood to screw it back in from the top. Other notes: Its a good idea to scrape out any grease inside the fan case. Also if you take off the right side panel where the fan engine is attached, it will allow the metal casing to be totally removed and cleaned, but pay attention to how its setup. The engine is clipped into the side panel and if it comes out, you will need to twist and clip it back in again.

Baumatic BT9.3BGL cooker hood i have had to have Baumatic to repair 3 time in 3 years when the fan becomes very noisy. I am not sure if they replaced the whole motor or just this impeller. will replacing the impeller cure a noisy fan - makes a rattle/rumble noise. I know this is difficult without seeing/hearing but "an educated guess" might help me decide to buy. a new motor is prohibitively expensive as you know.

A common cause of fan noise and vibration is the impeller going slightly out of 'true' so it rotates like a buckled wheel. This will significantly increase both noise and vibration. Spin the impeller and if it appears to wobble it would be the first part that I would replace.
Because there is no picture I cant see if this part has a bolt attached which my original part does have.
