I have looked at several videos and it seems the only way to fit this part is by removing everything, i.e front cover, rear cover, drum and then it can be fitted. Is their an easier way, can i be accessed from the front of the machine?

It would depend on whether your model has a removable front, normally you are correct the drum has to come out to get the access required to replace the felt seal.
we get filter blocked we took it out and cleaned it but still wont start the make of are dryer is a beko drvs 62w

Check that the drum rotates freely and is not jammed. if this is ok check you have not left a wire disconnected (possibly to the heater connection).
does it need replacing with a new drive belt
- You will need to remove the lid and unscrew the back of the machine. Make a note of electrical and hose connections. Remove the drum belt and then the drum. Fit the drum seal and re-build. You do not need a new drum belt unless it is worn. It is all fairly simple and takes about an hour to do.
