It is likely to be the pump so test it with a multimeter to determine if it has failed.

It is likely the pump has failed and this has caused the electric to trip when water is blown up onto the heater. It is a relative simple job to replace the pump, carefully prise the housing off the back using a large flat bladed screwdriver. remove connections from motor and unclip it from the housing cover. Then refit and reassemble.
