  • Most likely to be the drainpump motor, Buying the whole item drainpump fitted with motor is best as it may have been the blocked pump housing that caused the motor to burn out. By scottiehut - Hawick - 26 May 2010

i can put the washer on and it will do the wash then stop half way through with drum full of water .. when i select the drain icon the machine makes a noise but the water doesnt drain .i have checked the filter for any blockages but nothing there . so i was wondering if the pump may have packed up ..the washer is a candy c514

I have done all the advice and cant find a blockage there is water coming out when the filter opened could it need a new drain pump

  • I had the same problem, which turned out to be the drain pump that had broken. Mine was easily removed from the underside of the machine at the front (once I had tilted the washing machine and drained out the water from the drum into a bucket by unclipping the outlet hose from the drum)and the correct replacement easily found from the e spares website. It took 10 minutes to fit the new one and saved me at least £100 in repair bills. By Anonymous - Essex - 28 December 2009
