The timer will reverse the motor but you will need to test the capacitor and motor to make sure they are ok first.
I have a 37760 tumble dryer which has stopped working When you turn the timer knob there is no ticking sound I assume it requires a new timer. Is it diffiult to fit? 1 Answer

It is a motorised timer so does not tick. See our diagnosis videos in our Advice centre to help identify your problem and check the thermal cut outs on the heater.
COULD IT BE A FAULTY TIMER SWITCH OR SOME THING MORE.
