The salt reservoir in my dishwasher is suddenly emptying very quickly. It can use half of the reservoir in one wash. What is the problem? my dishwasher is about 12 years old. 1 Answer

The salt reservoir chamber has a filter to hold the salt in and a valve that controls the flow through it. either failing could be responsible. The solenoid valve is supplied generally with the reservoir.
