If the machine is not leaking the problem is likely to be the piston seals or the cylinder head assembly.

If the motor is pulsing during use it is shutting down due to what it thinks is the excess pressure caused by turning it off. Unless there is a additional restriction in the spray head that has reduced the flow below the limit and is causing excess pressure the problem is most likely to be the spring on the pressure switch weakening and the switch operating to soon. This is my diagnosis but may be incorrect, Leaking seals will usually cause pulsating when not spraying as the cylinder head pressure will build but quickly drop away indicating to the pressure switch the machine is being used.
