I've bought a new cable and want to put the existing clip onto the new cable. Any advice on how to do this without breaking the clip?

cut the cable with 75mm of wire on one side , strip the wire and draw out the inner wire to thin the cable. Trim cable one side of the clip and try and pull the outer through the clip, Warm in hot water to soften if required. With the clip off the old cable it should be easier to open and refit to the new cable.

Hi wendywoo, it's a bit tricky to move the clip up and down. You'll need to grab one of the jaws of the clip (that lock it to the other part of the cable) so that the jaws are clamped open. You can then twist the pliers round to force the cable to open enough to loosen it and move it. Be careful though! You need to make sure you don't damage the clip while you're doing this.
