After viewing the various videos I don't believe there is a problem elsewhere ie the actuator lever/spring assembly not allowing it to click shut so is it possible that the lid has just lost its "shape" and isn't catching to click shut permanently till triggered?

Take the lid off and check the catch area on the lid and confirm the catch operates correctly and moves to a position that should latch the door. If this checks out and the door appears damaged or distorted order a replacement.
