Oven Ignition Switch Kit

Keep your cooker and hobs alight with this replacement ignition switch kit. Over time the ignition switch for your gas hobs and cooker may perish, leaving you to no longer be able to produce the spark to ignite the flames to cook your meals.

When this occurs it is best to replace and luckily eSpares have this ideal kit for you. Included, comes the ignition button, the button top, and the switch support.

Genuine spare part for select models of Cannon, Hotpoint and Creda cookers.

Please check the suitable model fit list to ensure that this is the correct part for your appliance.

  • On my Cannon Stratford gas cooker the first thing to do was to turn off the gas supply to the cooker.then pull the cooker away from the wall to gain access to the two front side screws that hold the control panel in place. Disconnect the gas pipe(this should be a quick release connection). Lower the grill door to access three more screws that secure the same front panel(these go into the underside of the panel)Pull off all the control knobs and the panel will come away from it`s mount.disconnect the two wires from the back of the switch noting their position. As the switch, bezel and button are to be replaced the wings of the bezel and clips that hold the switch in place can be cut with electrical snips. the switch assembly can then be removed. press the new bezel in place connect the switch wires and test the switch operation,(should here a click, click, click whilst the button is pushed). if ok push switch into bezel until it locks into position using the retaining clips on the bezel. push the button into position then refit the control panel in the reverse order it was removed. reconnect the gas pipe and make a final check the switch assembly ignites all the gas burners then refit cooker back into it`s original position. Bit long winded I know but this is what I had to do to change the switch on my cooker. Best of luck. By Anonymous - chertsey surrey - 17 July 2012
