zanussi z56/3w fridge freezer the thermostat switch no longer clicks if you think it could be the thermostat please price as it is a old fridge freezer and might need replacing many thanks peter

    The thermostat must be closed as it is above temperature and is powering the compressor cooling the freezer. If there is no or poor cooling of the 'wet wall' on the back of the fridge it suggests there may be a lack of refrigerant in the system and require a systems engineer to fix it. It is not likely to be just a thermostat problem.

My fridge and freezer have been over freezing the the freezer temperature is close to minus 30 dergrees. I have replaced the thermostat and that doesn't seem to have made any difference. I think the fridge and greezer door seals are resonably tight. Could it be that the compressor is running overtime? It does go off now and again. Help
