The float switch turns on the 'empty water' light and stops the heater only. The pump will run continuously when the machine is running.

Answer this question

the reservoir at the base of dryer over flows, ive fitted a new pump and float but still leaks, does this switch control the float and do you think this will solve my problem

Make sure both hoses connect from the pump to the water container housing. Once full excess water is returned to the pump and causes the float to rise and cuts off power to the heater stopping additional water from being removed.

Answer this question

Our tumble dryer rotates and starts to warm clothes as per normal, but seems to turn off before clothes are dry. Would this part have an influence on performance?

This part is used to turn the heater off if the water is not cleared from the reservoir to prevent leaking. This drier will turn the heat off ten minutes before it finishes to cool down. To check the heat set to over twenty minutes and check before it reaches the last ten minutes. Do not 'turned off' without allowing the dryer to run through the cool down cycle.
