Washing Machine & Tumble Dryer Door Hinge Stock Number: ES187109
Spare part for select models of Hotpoint, Creda and many more brands of washers and dryers
I hadn't read this - wish I had ! So when I unscrewed the hinges I heard something fall which I now know was the hinge backplate and I have nothing to screw the hinges into. Is there any way to open it up to get the hinge plate back in line or any way to replace with a new hinge plate ?
- This happened on my hotpoint Aquarius. Quite simply make sure machine is isolated, take off the lid by undoing two screws at the back and you'll see the back plate lying there. On my appliance the back plate clips on so you can reattach single handedly.. Hope this helps
- Dont worry, it happerned to me and was easy to over come, you only need to take the top off, then just need to tip the machine up a little, put two big books under each front corner of the machine, this will not be to much that it can fall over, put your arm under and you will find it, then may be get some one to help you hold the front of the hinge and you can hold the back part by putting your arm down through the top, then this can be screwed back on. It will save you a small furtune doing it your self, Thanks to espares.
- OK, for future DIY`ers; Do not let this happen if avoidable, BUT, when installing the hinge...DISCONNECT THE FRONT TUB RUBBER SEAL FROM THE FRONT OF THE WASHING MACHINE and you can hold the Backplate inside as you put the screws through OUTSIDE HINGE and screw it up. OR, remove the TOP COVER and FRONT TOP PANEL and SOAP TRAY so as to REACH DOWN to hold the back plate. I have not ever had this machine of mine turned on its` side but I think that most all machines of these types are OPEN UNDERNEATH so that you could search around for it.
Fitted the part as per instructions and it fits like a glove. There is no damage at all to the inner and outer door trim but we have an annoying leak, it appears water is getting inbetween the door trims building up and then leaking out. Its obvious something we have done as the leak wasn't present before. Any ideas what we should be rechecking? Thanks for your help.

The door glass should seal to the cabinet. If moisture or water is leaking from the bottom of the door it is likely to be due to damage to the seal allowing moist air to escape.
Model WM75P. I have seperated the inner and outer door parts but the hinge bearings do not lift as per tghe video. The spindle has snapped at the entrance to the bearing. How do I lift the bearing and remove the broken spindle. I have ordered spare part 016/4333/- but how do I fit the spindle into the bearings ?

If a hinge bearing is blocked by the hinge pin look for a small hole at the opposite end, if one is fitted use a small drill or nail to push the hinge pin out of the bearing. If you cannot remove the pin order the hinge bearing itself.
I have bought a replacement hinge for my Hotpoint Aquarius washing machine ! I cannnot get the front and rear door trims apart ! I have removed the screws but the trims will not "pop" apart ! I do not want to force them and risk damaging the trims ! Can you advise please ?

The two parts of the door clip together and can be difficult to separate, use a smooth lever like an old spoon or cycle tyre lever to gently prise the pieces apart.
How do you actually get into your washing machine when the door catch has seized / broken so you cannot open the door 1 Answer
- maybe you can get to the back of the catch ,by taking the top off the machine and pushing the catch with a long screwdriver.BUT MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG THE MACHINE FIRST.!
I've managed to locate the appropriate replacement door hinge and retainers on this site for my Creda Tumbledryer (Model # T522VW). That's the easy part I feel as when I now look at the design in retrospect I cannot see how I can undo the present (broken) hinge retaining screws without the nuts/plate retainer on the other side of the front panel (i.e. INSIDE the machine) falling off and into the machine somewhere. Anyone completed this door hinge replacement successfully? If so, how did you manage to get around this nutty problem please? Regards, Steve
- Before I replaced this part, I unscrewed the three screws on the back of the table top cover & took the cover off so that I could secure the backing plate that the two hinge retaining screws go into. Thereby, preventing a lot of wasted time rumaging around for the back plate. I also replaced both Washing Machine / Tumble Dryer Hinge Bearings as these were damaged when the metal failed. You may prefer to use the original Washing Machine / Tumble Dryer Hinge Bearings, but the fitting procedure is the same:- After fitting the hinge to the washing machine, I unscrewed the three screws on the door, prised the door inner & outer apart with a blunt table knife, removed the plastic Washing Machine / Tumble Dryer Hinge Bearings, slid the Washing Machine / Tumble Dryer Hinge Bearings over the hinge & reassembled the door. Thereby, reattaching the door to the washing machine. I did it this way for ease & to prevent the weight of the door making the securing the hinge to the washing machine more difficult. As each model may vary, you may have to do things slightly differently.
