- I found an easyish way to seperate the control head from the alloy housing. As noted in the previous answer, first remove the silver nut and rotary connector then push out the red tube. I then used a 13mm followed by a 12mm socket as a drift in the hole with the threads where the rotary connector was attached and it was out in under a minute with very little damage. As the control head and housing are a flush fit and an awkward shape you just can't put the assembly on something flat and hit it so to to get some clearance I put the hex bolts back in the holes from the bottom and used a couple of bits of spare wood to stand it on before i hit it.
- its very difficult. You need to remove the silver nut ( tightly fixed ) , and then push out the internal washer/tube ( red in colour). We ended up pushing it out by having to damage the internal part of the control head ( which was being replaced anyway ). Its tight but will eventually come out. Try not to damage the detergent holder and the hose fitting below unless you have ordered new ones of these. We had to resort to a hammer and other tools to literally bang/force the part out. I have removed main asembly from body of washer but how do I remove actual contro; head asembly, the Detergent pipe conector is at right angles to whet looks like the slot to allow it be removed. do I need to turn it, as it feels quite ridgid.
- Make sure the bolts that hold the casting cover are removed. You then need to wiggle the small detergent fitting assembly elbow 90° to allow the casting cover to pass. If its stubborn take extra care and do not force it because the plastic elbow is pritle and can break.
- just wiggle and pull all parts must be swapped so your old part resembles the new part received
Karcher 411A pressure pulsing when spraying ? When im using the pressure washer it pulses when i depress the trigger. Its not pulsing when the trigger is not depressed. Ive removed the case and watched it run. There is a pressure switch that cuts the power to the motor when the trigger isnt pressed to stop the pump destroying its self. This mechanical pressure switch is pulsing in and out as is the pressure is getting too high for the machine. So, im looking for any advise on why this pressure switch should pulse when the trigger is pressed. If i hold the switch forward with a screwdriver it runs fine! Can anyone help please!
- There is a small non-return valve in the outlet connection, underneath the small triangle shaped block in the pump head, the valveis white nylon with a small O ring on the end and a light spring that holds it closed, if this valve passes it will allow the pressure switch to hunt off and on. A repair can be achieved by replacing this small valve head.
- Replace the pressure washer control head and the pressure washer cylinder head . normally fixes the prob.
There is a leak on the black plastic cover that covers the 3 metal pistons. when you put the motor on the water appears from plastic cover mentioned by quite a lot but there dosent appear to be any cracks? can you please advise and what parts I will require to rectify the problem please.
- Hi, I had the same problem, it was a cracked seal, i was going to replace all 3 of the seals but for piece of mind i changed the whole cylinderhead. This came with a full set of seals, springs etc. So for a few pound more, you get to renew the whole cylinderhead plus the internal parts.

Hi, check all tubing and cylinder head parts for cracks. If you can't find any, it may be one of the seals, check these too. Seeing as the leak is happening at this part on your washer but there's no cracks, it sounds like it could very well be a seal. Best of luck!
Hi, Am having problems with my K5.50 it's constantly pulsing, when not in use, and I have also noticed it's slightly down on power. I have been told it could be the control head, but after removing this, I can't see any evidence of it leaking.... Help what do you think? Thanks
- I had a cracked control head body and cracked Vario lance nozzle in my K4.99M, and replacing these parts cured the pulsing and low pressure. I believe that these problems were caused by freezing damage.

I bought a new Karcher 411A many years ago in a sale but never used it, until now. It has been stored in a shed over several winters but never with water in, as far as I know. I've just tried it, first there was only modest pressure, no more than the hosepipe to it, then almost no pressure. The motor starts and stops but it's no use as is. What is likely to be wrong?

If the motor stops automatically when you release the trigger then the 'pump' is working correctly. Suspect a blockage in the spray lance and remove it. if the water flows from the gun OK (even though there will be no pressure) try another lance.

I can't get the pump plugs out from my Karcher 411A pressure washer pump assembly. Do I need a special tool ?

To remove the piston seals from the cylinder head use a paper clip or piece of copper wire to 'fashion' a small hook to pass through the seal centre hole and carefully draw the seal out.
Karcher 411A... when I realease the trigger on the lance the motor in the unit does not switch off and the on/off switch on the unit does not work 1 Answer

the machine does not auto stop when pressure lance not in use but pulses on and off.

Cure any water leaks first and if the problem continues remove and clean the inlet water filter. ensure you have a good flow on the supply and then suspect the piston seals.
