These sticks do not prevent lime scale they help dissolve and remove it so use after a period of use to clean away any build up.

Descaling products work better in warm to hot water. You could carefully fill from a kettle or turn on with the top off until it starts to boil before turning off and putting the sticks in.
My steamer uses the rescaling cartridges can I use the sticks instead? Finding to hard to get cartridges 1 Answer

You can use a range of de-scaling products but this cannot be done while using the machine.

I cannot open the valve on to of my1105 vaporapid can you help thanks

If your valve is like the one shown in Stock Number: ES537922 then this is a safety valve designed to protect you when hot and under pressure. If this has 'failed' and cannot be removed it may be necessary to drill or cut the top off to be able to unscrew the base and replace it.
